Work is now underway to replace the West Green banks with artificial banks. This project is part of the 5 year plan approved last year and will involve replacing all of the banks, with improved drainage and a path from the west side of the green around to the north side to where the new viewing area with seats was installed last year.
Volunteers are doing the work, with a sizeable saving in cost, and started about two weeks ago and already the north bank has competed the earth removal stage and work has started on the west bank to bring it to the same stage. The volunteers under the Green Convenor, George Sneedon have been working very hard indeed and thier hs been a good response with Hugh Murray, Ian Hume, George Tait, Walter Jamieson, Tom Adkin, Tony Bird and Martin Webb all contributing, well done lads. Any help is appreciated contact any of the above if you have time to spare.
