"Adam & Eve" Kennon Cup 2009
The last club competition of the outdoor season, the Mixed Four Bowl, the Adam & Eve nominated Pairs competition for the Kennon Cup was played on Tuesday, and Thursday 21st & 23rd September. Given the name of the Trophy, it was not unusual that only two Husband and Wife teams played together in the competition.
As is normal the section games were played on the Tuesday and Thursday, with all games comprising of 6 ends. When the section games were completed the , the pair of young Clair Macindoe along with the even younger Alan Air qualified from the Red section with 8 points whilst Pat Donald and Paddy Nichol qualified from the Blue section with the full ten points from their games.

Kennon_Winners_2009_WebIn the final, also played on Thursday, Pat and Paddy took the first end scoring 2, Claire and Alan scored a 1 in the next two ends to level the game. Pat and Paddy then restored their lead with a two at the next end, only to see Claire and Alan
level again as they scored a 2 which meant the game went into the last end all square. Pat and Paddy lay the shot early in the game and must have felt confident as they were still lying shot with young Alan only having  one bowl left to play, that bowl was conclusive as it meant that the young pair Claire & Alan got the shot to become the youngest ever pairing to win the Trophy
