Annual Presentation of Prizes and Dinner Dance was held at the club on Saturday 24th October 2008. President Amelia McBride welcomed her guests for the evening:
Honorary President, Billy Petrie and his wife Jean, from the Dumbartonshire Bowling Association Roger Jones and his wife Jenny.The President also gave a warm welcomed to all the sponsors who were present,From McArthur Stanton,Mr Ian Wolf, she also gave a warm welcome to the sponsors from within the club, Mr Ritchie Robertson, Rob Laurenson and his wife Margaret, Mrs Noreen Stewart and Mr Hugh Murray. The President thanked all the sponsors, present and unable to attend, for their support over the years, there support was much appreciated and contributed a great deal to the running of the club:Before the assembled company enjoyed their meal Ms Sheena Lary Lady Captain of the club offered grace.
On completion of the meal President Amelia McBride thanked the caterers, Alex Graham Caterers, for an excellent meal and a very high standard of serviceThe President paid tribute to the achievements of, Iain MacDonald along with George Sneddon and Keith Tait in winning the Dunbartonshire Singles and Pairs Championships respectively at Dalmuir BC on Sunday 28th June,They formed the mainstay of a series of four wins by GBA clubs on the day with Colgrain winning the Triples and Garelochhead the Senior Fours.She also paid tribute to Annette Christie and Keith Tait for winning the GBA/GWBA Champion of Champions in the Ladies and Gents competitions. A magnificent performance from our players, we were proud of them.
The President introduced the formal prize giving saying we would now like to honour those Ladies and Gentlemen who have throughout this season maintained a consistently high level of bowling, leading to them being successful in winning the competitions which are so keenly contested within the club. We congratulate all the winners and runners up in their achievement. We also congratulate our members who have not been successful, without their participation there would of course be no competitions, and we wish them all good fortune in the years ahead. In particular this year I feel we must pay special tribute to Annette Christie and Keith Tait for the Club records the set by winning so many Trophies, the skill, concentration and will need to win so many trophies was truly remarkable and I congratulate them Both The secretary in leading the prize giving, asked the individual sponsors to present their trophies and prizes, the remaining prizes were presented by the Presidents Individual Sponsors and the Club Captains Junior Section Winner Runner Up

On completion of the presentation the Honorary President of the Club Billy Petrie, OBE JP DL, gave a short address. The Ladies and Gents Champions, Annette Christie and Keith Tait thanked the, sponsors for their support to the competitions, the match committee's for organising all the competitions, the greens convenor and his committee for the condition of the greens and the club members for participating, without them there would be no competitions. Roger Jones representing the DBA all thanked the club for their invitations, and congratulated the club members on their achievements this year. In closing the Gents Captain Walter Jamieson proposed a vote of thanks to all, who had assisted in the evening, the caterers, the bar staff, ladies who had set the tables, Annette Garrick for her Flower arrangements. In particular he thanked the President Amelia for the manner in which she had chaired the evening.
